Various parts of WoT, early Pratchett novels, and, of course, Tom Bombadil

For WoT: It's not that I despise the Wondergirls as some others do, but sometimes during a reread I just don't feel like reading a few hundred pages of circus politics and listening to the girls bicker because their periods synced up.
Ahhh, holy crap, the White Tower must become a freaking nightmare once a month.
Well, whatever the reason, sometimes I skip over those parts.
For Pratchett, whom I adore, his very early stuff like Color of Magic is extremely episodic, to the point where I can just open the book at random and get a full story.
And mostly I just hate reading Tolkein's songs.

I amuse myself.
In rereading a book have you ever stopped or skipped a section you just couldn't stand?

Generally I will skim when non-fiction authors take obnoxious poetic turns.
