Christopher Moore---- Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story Ryan Send a noteboard - 04/09/2011 06:16:09 AM
For me, I've always been a fan of Fantasy. The more epic, the better. However, when boredom ensues it can lead to strange decisions. Eight, or nine years ago I was bored. So rifling through a box of books my Mom had picked up at an yard sale I came across something that wasn't bored housewife porn aka Romance.

After reading the back it caught my attention, and I read the book. I greatly enjoyed the book. After several moves...boredom ensued again, and I found myself in Barnes & Noble, and I recall the book I enjoyed so many years ago that I wanted to read again. Search upon search, because I had forgotten the title and the author I found it. And I am glad I did. It was as good as I remembered, and details that I was naive about then, add a dimension of appreciation to it that I didn't have then.

Yes, it is a vampire story. No, the vampires do not sparkle. In fact the first time we see a vampire it emerges from a city dumpster reeking to high hell. The story is more humorous then it is gory. It is a fun jaunt into the world of the undead, the unofficial sport of frozen turkey bowling, mystery, and bronzing. Not the spray on artificial tanning crap either. Hot liquid metal, bronze.

My main complaint is the story is too short in my opinion. You quickly are drawn in, and pulled along, and when it is done you are left hanging. Upon finding the book, I was pleased to learn that there are two sequels which I look forward to reading at the first opportunity.

Check it out some time.
The past is just that, the past. You can only truly live by looking to the future!
