So I'm reading Game of Thrones again. After watching the series, I caught the bug again, and am just devouring the first book.
I'm going to preface this with - I'm sure there are several of you who already know this, but I don't really keep up with the GoT theories. But I was reading along and a couple of things grabbed me:
1. I had read somewhere that Jon Snow is rumored not to be Ned Stark's son - (that's the beginning and end of what I read to be honest).
2. When Katlyn asked Ned about it, he said something along the lines of "He's my blood, and I wish to speak of it no more" Not "he's my SON", but "he's my BLOOD"
3. Rhaegar had kidnapped Llyanna and "raped her" a lot. a LOT. And Llyanna died of a "fever" before Ned could bring her home.
So my epiphany (however slow it might have come to me) is that Llyana is Jon Snow's mother and Raegar is his father.
Am I close at least?

...the fact that Ned recalls (a LOT) Lyanna's weeping and begging him to do something for her, and it's written in such a way that it could refer to the obvious (bringing her "home" after her death) but it seems to portend much more. I came to your conclusion myself as well, but I've very carefully not read anything about the matter because I want to finish reading the books so I don't accidentally have anything spoiled! I'm about halfway through AFfC right now.
The only thing that bothers me about that is that Jon has nothing of the Targaryens in his looks...but I guess it could be that Ned's seed is strong too
If you are from Betelgeuse, please have one of your Earth friends read what I've written before you respond. Or try concentrating harder.

That's pretty much accepted as truth by most, yeah. That Jon is Rhaegar and Lyanna's son. *NM*
