“When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before.” - Mirri Maz Duur
This sounds like a fancy way of saying NEVER!! but, I've always wondered if this had more the ring of prophecy to it.
Dany hallucinated Quaithe on her balcony in her pyramid. She said,
"Hear me, Daenerys Targaryen. The glass candles are burning. Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others. Kraken and dark flame, lion and griffin, the sun’s son and the mummer’s dragon. Trust none of them. Remember the Undying. Beware the perfumed seneschal.”*
I wondered if the first was a riddle to be deciphered, as the second is.
"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east." Quentyn Martell is the Sun's Son. He was born and raised in Westeros, and died in the East.
I cannot figure out how to work in the seas going dry or mountains blowing in the wind. (suggestions?)
But, at the end of book 5, did we see Daenerys' womb quicken? She can't remember the last time she had her moon flow.
I may be reaching here, but I've been gnawing this thought for 2 days and I thought I'd throw it out here for all the brilliant minds to mull over.
