Tarly is extremely skeptical about everything, so I doubt he's in cahoots with Connington. If nothing else, he's not imaginative enough to do that, and I doubt he'd betray Mace Tyrell, his liege lord.
We hardly know enough about Tarly to know how imaginative he is. He may well be taking instructions from Varys, for all we know.
Further, while Tarly may be loyal enough to Mace to not want his family destroyed, playing with Aegon hardly needs to end that way. The Tyrells aren't irrevocably tied to the Lannisters anyway.
