- a graphic novel, a play or a collection of poetry you've not read before.

That shouldn't be too difficult... maybe some Tennessee Williams, or one of the many Shakespeares I still need to read. Or poetry.

- Historical Fiction/Alternative History

Got several books read for this one, the best fit is probably Scott's Waverley, though. (See my profile for more details on the books mentioned here.)
- Western

Read Blood Meridian.
- Horror

Still need to find one for that...
- Mystery

And that.
- (Auto-) Biography

Read Anthony Summers' biography of Marilyn Monroe, and (the first part of) Castelot's biography of Napoleon Bonaparte.
- History

Haven't really read anything for that yet, either, unless you count natural history.
- Family chronicle

Still need to find one.
- Allegory/parody/satire

Vanity Fair should count.
- Surrealist novel

Read Vineland.
- Extra option for those who can: a novel in a foreign language

I'm not counting French and English, while Arabic is probably too ambitious, so I'll try to read one in Spanish or German, I guess.
And we're halfway through the year now. If you're doing a 50 Book Challenge or similar, how are you getting on?
