I usually know what is out; it just takes me a while to read it

I'm still getting through books from previous years. I like it better this way as they get more reactions as time passes so it's easier to chose which one I'm interested in. That's why I'm ususally only up to speed on series I really like.
Scalzi "Fuzzy Nation", Erikson "The Crippled God", Stross "The Fueller Memorandum", Mieville "Embassytown", Banks "Surface Details" and many more but you only wanted 5 (hopefully I don't made any mistakes in the titles)
I'm bad at remembering the titles generally and anthologies titles even more. I know Pat did one of them lately and I'm still looking for the Squirrel one . And there's always the year's best ones. I don't want to cheat by looking them up.
They've been announced recently so I remember them all but have the two I just got for my Kindle - "Ten Thousand Kingdoms" and "Feed" - as Orbit lower the ebook price to 2.99 for their nominees.
It was a long time since those were announced so I forgot - there's too many awards to keep all the shortlists in memory - but I now the winners will be announced next week.
I also know "Zoo City" got Clarke's.
Generally yes but I sometimes I wish there was more information about new/lesser known authors. Especially for Standalone novels. Everyone concentrates on popular series and it's easy to miss the rest.
See 5. So I suppose anything that's not epic fantasy
Names again. OFblog, Pat's FH, Wertzone, nethspace, a dribble of ink, omnivoracious, word sf and many more
1. Try to name up to five spec fic novels released in 2010-2011.

Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.
Stupidity doesn't hurt but it kills.

How much do you know about recent speculative fiction (or, if you prefer, SF/F/H/Weird)?
