And the big difference between Shakespeare and Marlowe's backgrounds is that Marlowe went to university - he attended Corpus Christi College at Cambridge. (Or it might have been Christ's; I get the two confused.) That's enough for the anti-Stratfordians with regards to background.

Well, it's not like Shakepeare was illiterate; something about the Stratfordian argument that what many consider the greatest English writing in history isn't good enough to have been written by anyone else seems lacking. :P I don't really have a dog in this fight, but dislike on principle saying Shakespeares authorship is beyond dispute.
