Excellent question:

My coice for the handed down book would be the Hagakure. As for a book that was published im my lifetime the choice is much harder. I want to reccomend Heinlein's Starship Troopers but it was released prior to my birth. I'm actually kind of stuck as I usually prefer series over single books. I think I'll select Tom Clancy's Executive orders as the portrayal of Jack Ryan in that book IMO exemplfies a leader should be.


Hagakure is very good.
