It's dreadfully long and so uneven, though. I've read 1000 pages and I realize I'm only 2/3 of the way through and that's irritating.
I ended up reading Chögyam Trungpa's Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism in March even though it wasn't part of my challenge because I needed a break, and then I tore through Der Steppenwolf with a vengeance, but I'm not sure I want to go at a breakneck pace through Also Sprach Zarathustra just yet.
I might read the first book of Druon's Les Rois Maudits. It's more an entertainment sort of book than a "classic" so it will be sort of a break, but I could throw it in as an alternate for the French portion of my challenge. But I feel like I should finish Hugo first.
I guess the short answer to your question is "I don't know".

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
