I was wondering if the Void Trilogy picks up soon after JU or does it take place further in the future? Also, do some of the characters make returns? Specifically Paula and Ozzie (and Tochee for that matter)? Is it worth reading series or will I come away with the same feeling of near-closure-but-not-really.
It takes place far in the future, about 1500 years after PS/JU. Some old characters do return like Paula does return and has a lot cool confrontations with her nemesis. Other prominent returns are Oscar and the Burnellis. Ozzie has just little cameo and so does SI. However most of the plots involve new characters.
I love Hamilton's space opera books for scope and tech and cool weapons but you need to realise that all his endings are basically the same.
Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.
