We do have other things. I've found quite a few recently. But it's not like we're forgetting about aSoIF.

....it wasn't until a friend told me some days ago that aDwD was done (sort of). My reaction was literally.... "Oh, cool".

I just feel it's kind of sad getting riled up over a fantasy series. If you're really upset over his work ethic and attitude, then don't buy the book. Otherwise, it just makes you a bitch.

Thats a valid point of view for you to take, but don't judge people who are legitimately upset that an author has dicked them around for years. If he had been transparent and said something like: "look this is going to take a long time, I dont work at a fast pace, I never have, so buy the books at your own risk." Had he said anything like that, taken any blame or made any efforts at being honest and open about the process, like Sanderson and Rothfuss have (Rothfuss himself is very slow, but he is forthcoming about it, which prevents the bitching).

What people are upset about is the deceit, which prevents them from making a decision as to abandon the series or give a damn about it. Granted it's not anything life threatening, but it is annoying to hear him bs'ing all the time. Moreover, it's really annoying to hear people defend him based solely on his organizational difficulties with this last book.
You must unlearn what you have learned.
