Generally I found his work to be quite weak, and even as a 16 year old I was disdainful of the simplicity with which he framed nations and nationalities, like all people from Nyissa were sneaky or whatever the dominant trait of each country was.
I was always bothered by the fact that the army of each nation only had one type of weapon. The Drasnians had an entire army comprised exclusively of pikemen? Seriously? Asturians only had archers, Mimbrates were the only knights, Algars the only light cavalry, Tolnedrans were foot soldiers (Roman legion clones), and while Sendaria had an army, because soldiers arrested the heroes in the first book, once the war started, Eddings made it sound like all they had were wagoneers and farmers with sharpened sticks.

No. Never cared to read it, since I rarely read epic fantasies until 13-14 years ago. *NM*

If you're remembering sex scenes, odds are it wasn't an Eddings book. *NM*

Horrible, horrible writer. One of the worst I've ever had the misfortune to read. *NM*
