Paul Kearney's SEA-BEGGARS series to be concluded

Paul Kearney published the first two volumes of his SEA-BEGGARS series, THE MARK OF RAN and THIS FORSAKEN EARTH, back in 2004 and 2006. Shortly after that he was dropped by his publisher, Bantam UK, citing low sales of THIS FORSAKEN EARTH. Kearney was halfway through writing the concluding volume, STORM OF THE DEAD, and was understandably unhappy with this situation.
The situation got even more bizarre when, having dropped the series and refused to publish the third book, Bantam UK refused to give the rights back to Kearney so he could seek an alternate publisher. With the situation unresolved, Kearney briefly considered quitting writing until he was picked up by Solaris, who have since published his MACHT trilogy (THE TEN THOUSAND, CORVUS and the forthcoming KINGS OF MORNING).
Happily, the SEA-BEGGARS situation has now been resolved. Solaris will release all three books, including the never-before-seen STORM OF THE DEAD, in a single omnibus volume for publication in late 2012. Based on Solaris' form with Kearney's earlier MONARCHIES OF GOD omnibuses, the new omnibus will be at the price of a standard paperback to make up for the hassle of having to re-buy the first two books again.
Great news for the fans
