yup, belgariad and whatever the follow-up series was (with the copout plot about how they 'missed' a section of prophecy - I even thought that was weak when I was at teenager), plus Belgarath and Polgara books

Yeah, that was pretty bad.

- Do you reread?

dear god no. In fact, I read 13 books in 14 days and was so dissatisfied with the fact that it was so quickly read that I asked around to see if there were more expansive series, which is directly what led me to WoT.

They are very simplistic, which I why I think I like them.

- Favourite character?

I seem to remember liking the Emperor in the second series... zakath?

I always liked Zakath too. :|

Generally I found his work to be quite weak, and even as a 16 year old I was disdainful of the simplicity with which he framed nations and nationalities, like all people from Nyissa were sneaky or whatever the dominant trait of each country was.

I agree with you for the most part, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have liked them at all had I been older when I read them. Now they are nostalgia reads, since the first time I picked up the first book I was 10 years old.

No. Never cared to read it, since I rarely read epic fantasies until 13-14 years ago. *NM* - 16/03/2011 09:33:52 PM 614 Views
