Bast has always exhibited what can, at best, be described as a loose set of morals. But does that hint at evil lurking within him? Or is it simply because he is of the Fae? Like Kvothe says, despite looking similar, they are not at all like humans... Still, I have no doubt for better or worse Bast will definitely play a big role in the next book. Especially since we have yet to learn how he met up with Kvothe.
