Can anyone recommend (North/South) Korean authors?

I'd like to read a book by a Korean author for this twomonth's challenge but don't actually know any. 
Suggestions?
At this point, I'm possibly going to go with the one that Wikipedia says has the same birthday as me. Seems a safe bet.
If all else fails, there's always Persepolis to get an Iranian author crossed off my list.
