There's not much to go on here, so bear with me. The game that Bredon loves to play more than anything in the world is a game where you're supposedly so slowly, beautifully, defeat your enemy. I think that this is exactly the sort of thing that the Chandrian are out to accomplish.
Now, the reason I think that Bredon is Denna's patron is because he talks about learning to dance at some point in that weighty tome (if I recall correctly) and Denna also mentions something about teaching Ash to dance or something of the sort. Again, vague, I know, but I'm too lazy to search for it.
If Bredon is her patron, and Bredon is ALSO Cinder, it would make sense that he's trying to get close to the Maer, since he's got considerable sway over the Kingdom, and also since Lady Lackless has something pretty damned special in that box of hers. Cinder would want that sort of thing, and perhaps he's playing a beautiful game by leading bandits to take the Maer's taxes, and turn the people against him in some way. I dunno, but it's all food for thought.
