The Not-So-Dirty Half Dozen Challenge task for March and April:
Read a book by an author from a country you've not read a book from before.
I'd like to read something by a Korean author so will see what I can find. Failing that, maybe Brazil or summat.
Genre Challenge
Quite simply, just read one book from each of the genres below before the year is out. Rereads are allowed; it's up to you whether you choose all new books or not. I probably won't.
- Historical Fiction/Alternative History
- Western
- Horror
Did that in January - ish...
- Mystery
- (Auto-) Biography
- History
Hoping to get a book on the history of Edinburgh from a colleague so will maybe get this one done this month.
- Family chronicle
- Allegory/parody/satire
- Surrealist novel
- Extra option for those who can: a novel in a foreign language
And don't forget the 50 Book Challenge or picking up a book you've been meaning to read for ages.
Not meeting my targets for 100 books so far, but the start of the year always goes badly for me.

Hard stuff. Any suggestions? Oh, it doesn't have to be in a different language does it? *NM*

I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on Children of Gebelawi or Palace Walk.

No clue, never read either. In fact all I've read is the first five or six chapters in Arabic. *NM*
