Re: Final check up: one week left in January/February's Challenge

Have you read your Classic yet?
Yes, I think Handful of Dust and Maltese Falcon both kind of count, and maybe even Fahrenheit 451.
And keep the reviews coming. They've been great to read.
I have so far never reviewed a book here. I keep meaning to do so but I've never had free time immediately after reading any of the books I've felt like reviewing, and after a couple of days the impulse to do so fades.
Next month's challenge: Read a book by an author from a country you've not read a book from before.
I'm going for either Portugal or South Africa, Jose Saramago or JM Coetzee. I may read both if time allows me.

Oh. I didn't quite understand how it worked. Thank you for clarifying. Now if I can just remember

That sort of challenge actually makes it more difficult for the more well-read readers, I'd think

After a while, it becomes much easier to forget which have been read than to remember which haven't

It doesn't have to be a country that still exists.

Why are you shocked that I've never read Kafka?

I have that problem

Perhaps I don't make that assumption because I read some unusual books.

Only that I take you for one of the few people who are more widely-read than I am, that's all *NM*

But I can only read 30-40 books a year at a maximum!

So he says. Since he wrote a book about the All Blacks, I'm inclined to believe him
