I decided to look into it after I said I wasn't sure about it. apparently B$N and Google have a deal worked out (according to the B&N FAQ). You don;t necessarily need a Google account; you can supposedly sign in with your B&N account and buy a book from Google. Just going by what they said, I haven't bought anything from Google but I did download a free book and loaded it up my Nook just fine (it download to my computer and then I load it via USB).

Which is more irritating, bookshelves taking up space or running out of batteries while reading?

I was sure that the best I could ever do was tolerate ereaders.
