I decided to look into it after I said I wasn't sure about it. apparently B$N and Google have a deal worked out (according to the B&N FAQ). You don;t necessarily need a Google account; you can supposedly sign in with your B&N account and buy a book from Google. Just going by what they said, I haven't bought anything from Google but I did download a free book and loaded it up my Nook just fine (it download to my computer and then I load it via USB).
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
