But always been hesitant and still am. Even after your review.
I think it is vital to understand the time in which it was written. The book is very much reliant on the attitudes that existed then. The Wikipedia article - and links within - would probably be sufficient to help with that.
But it is worth a read, definitely. I'd be interested to see what you thought of it if you did give it a try.
