Most often I'll remember the music that was playing in the background. Or, more exactly, when listening to some music, I'll remember reading X-book to it.

Huh. This is interesting. I rarely read with music on. I don't know whether I would remember it.

When I do remember where I was when I read a book it's usually because it was somewhere different from my usual reading places, ie on the bus, at my desk at work, in bed or on the couch.

Hmm. I don't know whether I have a usual reading place. I have noticed that the places I associate with books are quite often where I started them. I think of the bus up from Leith when I think about The Gone-Away World, for example.
