I've never read them myself though. In fact, I haven't even heard very much about them, aside from vague mentions. Are they really as good as the posts in this topic make them seem? Because I'm down for a good story, good characters, good vocabulary/writing, and an overall sense of despair and darkness. Perhaps the latter most of all.

So basically, should I be rushing to amazon to get them right away, or is it more like something I should consider down the line? :P
