Sorry I'm late to the party Zeran Send a noteboard - 14/01/2011 02:11:13 AM
I've actually finished a couple books this month (Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher and Slaughterhouse Five, which meets my challenge for Jan/Feb!). In a effort to be more participatory on RAFO, here are my additional planned reads for January:

- The Name Of The Rose by Umberto Eco. After taking a stroll through the old reviews on the site, I noticed a great post for this one. I suppose this could be bonus points for the Classic Challenge? I've definitely been wanting to read Eco for quite some time. I also have Foucault's Pendulum, Baudolino and The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana tempting me but I figure this is where I should start.

- Academ's Fury by Jim Butcher. I really enjoyed Butcher's first Codex Alera entry, Furies Of Calderon. The first book seemed to be structured like his Dresden books in that it could be read as a standalone story. Hoping this trend continues for the rest of the series, I'm going to spread the reading of the remaining five books throughout 2011.

- Something sci-fi. Still have decided on a specific title but do have a couple in mind: Pandora's Star by Peter Hamilton or The Player Of Games by Iain Banks. We'll see where the month takes me.
