1 - Approximately how many books do you read in the average month?
It varies a lot depending on my mood... certainly a lot fewer lately. Currently probably about 1 or 2, next month it could be 10.
2 - Of those books, what ratio would be Sci-fi/Fantasy compared with Not SFF? (Ie SFF:NotSFF)
2.86:1
Except probably not
3 - (with credit to Tom) Which of these do you read:
Fantasy
Sci-fi -- occasional
Historical Fiction
Classics -- I try!
Crime/Mystery -- My guilty pleasure.
Other fiction stuff (like Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro etc) -- They tend to be on the list, but I have trouble getting to them.
Non-fiction -- I usually have one going on. Usually for months at a time.
Manga -- I've actually started reading Manga fairly recently. It's fun.
Plays -- Not as much as I used to.
Poetry -- ugh.
Magazines
Newspapers
4 - Do you read every day?
I used to... I wish I still did.
5 - Do you find it easy to discuss the books you read?
Not really. What's in my head about a book never makes quite as much sense when it comes out, whether in writing or talking.
5a - If not, do you know what might make it easier?
Brain transplant?
6 - Do you buy books as soon as they are published?
Nope. Libraries are my friends.
7 - What do you like to see in reviews?
I like enough plot to get me intrigued, plus the "feel" of the book.
Thanks.
Yus.
