The big dramatic reveal at the end of that book ends up being that the Holy Grail isn't actually an object, but Jesus' bloodline (the classic theory of Jesus and Mary Magdalen fleeing to Massilia and having children there in the Provence, I'm sure you've heard about that one before). My point was that - even though I admit it's a stretch - you could read Xenophilius as a poke at those lovers of conspiracy theories who not only devour books like the Da Vinci Code, but believe all the conspiracies in them too. Interestingly, she doesn't seem to resent Hermione, who's rarely been all that warm to her.
