I agree it was way overhyped. everynametaken Send a noteboard - 16/09/2009 02:12:39 AM
The person who recommended "The DaVinci Code" to me swore it was the greatest book ever and that it told them so many things they had never known, blah, blah, blah. Since I wanted to make them happy, I told them that I would read it as soon as I was done with the book I was currently reading. That book was "Les Miserables". "The DaVinci Code" was a let down for me. Maybe I would have thought it was better if it wasn't following that act, but I don't think so. I got the same feeling I used to when I read "The National Enquirer" back when I was a teenager before I decided it was trashy journalism. It just felt trashy all the way around.

It was really hyped up to me too by friends and so I read it and enjoyed it enough to read Angels and Demons. But the way a few friends raved on and on about it made me kind of scratch my head.

The hype around the movie was just nauseating because I knew the book was an OK read and the movie might at best be an OK movie.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

His prose is bad. Very bad. - 14/09/2009 09:28:28 PM 1087 Views
It's not any worse than Robert Jordan's prose. I'd say it's better, in fact. - 14/09/2009 09:30:17 PM 957 Views
