I'm fairly certain, however, that the reflexive needs to be "se" given that it's supposed to be a verb object and as such doesn't refer back to the subject as directly. I've heard it said that way, regardless.

As for the book, the Pleiade editions are leather-bound. It is NOT all of Flaubert's work. It is apparently Madame Bovary, Salammbo and something else.
