I actually remember reading about this community when I was quite young. I think it was before I even heard about transgender people in the west, or at least before I realised what that entailed.

I'm not sure I am up for the book at the moment, though. I'll read it at some point, though, if you think I'll like it.

Incidentally, but not entirely unrelatedly: have you read Cloud 9? Did I already ask you that?

Ah, no. Cloud 9 is a play. It is a little heavy-handed at times, but interesting nonetheless. Part of the point of it is that it has some very clear instructions for those performing it to use men in the girl's part or a woman in a boy's part in order to highlight some points. It also made me blush, but that is beside the point. It also tries to tie gender relations to colonialism. As I said, it is heavy-handed, but it is also interesting. I haven't read anything quite like it.
