I haven't thought of buying it in French, to be honest Larry Send a noteboard - 08/11/2010 11:31:06 PM
Have you read it in French?

I really wish I had enough ability with another language (German, Spanish or French, really) to be able to read in the original. I don't have the time or energy to learn at the moment either. I envy you people with your multilingualism.

Er. Yes.

Thanks for sharing your review. ;)

Although I'm (just) capable of doing so, I suppose.

I disagree, as I believe the quote highlights the narrative tension quite nicely, but it might be because I had over twenty pages before then to get used to the prose and its rhythms.

It might just be the translation, but I really don't like the style of writing in that quote. - 08/11/2010 11:21:13 PM 427 Views

I agree with Rebekah and Camilla. There's something really unsettling about French-to-English. - 09/11/2010 02:46:12 AM 476 Views

Perhaps, but it applies equally to virtually all translations I've read. - 09/11/2010 06:51:57 PM 457 Views
