I try to get outside and clear my head. Walking in the sun helps.
Or listen to 'cheer me up' music in the car: Beatles, Beach Boys, 90's hip hop usually does the trick.
Other times I like to stay in that disturbed place and brood for a while. Keep to myself for a few days. Listen to thoughtful, brooding music: Nirvana, REM, some U2.
Thankfully, I eventually revert to clearing my head and getting out of the funk.

What do you do after you've read a very disturbing book?

1) I try not to, 2) Make a post warning people, 3) Try to purge it from my mind.
