I remember the times when there was several such threads on the Previous Incarnation
There are two answers:
One. There are some people who only like this book when all the threads collapse together in the end and it all start making sense (Some others go even further and start liking Malazan Books only after reading Deadhouse Gates - it was written much letter and is easier to get into). I cannot tell from personal experience, as I loved the book from the beginning, but I remember multiple post of people who thought this was the worst book ever and then posted teary thanks to those who told them to keep reading. So you can stick with it to see if you are one of them.
Two. This is not a book/series for you. It happens. The fact that a lot people like it doesn't mean automatically that you will. It doesn't mean you read it wrong, don't understand it or that it's bad. It's just not for you. I, for example, don't like GRRM's ASOIAF series despite really wanting to. If so then there is no point of torturing yourself with it.
You need to chose which one is it for you. Decide whether you want to keep on trying or don't care enough to try to reach an interesting part.
Anyway, you can always come back to it after a while. You may perceive it differently after a while.

Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.
Stupidity doesn't hurt but it kills.

Put it down for a while, then pick it back up. And start at the beginning.

I would say as much as 80% of everyone who reads the book thinks this at first.

I hated it, as well. That seems to be the usual response to it, though.
