Here are some my almost five year old likes random thoughts Send a noteboard - 21/10/2010 05:01:43 PM
Sorry if this is a bit of rabble.

Not she is girl so they lean a little heavy in that direction but not much Ican do about that;)

Wizard of OZ was a hit.

The Ramona and Beezus books are what are reading now and she loves them.

She liked The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Anne of Green Gables but that is probably too girly.

She hated Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and the Pooh books. I think the writing is too stylized and she had trouble following it.

On our to read list is Three Tales of My Father’s Dragon and Charlotte’s Web.

My boys loved a book called Goblins Under the Stairs and some of the classics like Treasure Island and the loved The Hobbit.

What I find with my daughter is it often comes down to how hard the story is to follow and if she can identify with the characters. She doesn’t want a lot of personal conflict and relationship issues that she can't understand but she likes big straight forward emotions and she likes to be a little scared. She likes to know who the bad guy is and who the good guy is and she does not like it when they switch roles. Monsters are fine but a good guy that can't be trusted terrifies her.
