Huh. Who would have thought you'd be able to do a collection of In The Wall stories?

Question: Sometimes YA novels have really ridiculous premises (e.g. talking dolls, self-imposed exile in the wall's of one's house, etc). What's the craziest book you read as a kid? Did you like it? What do you think of it now, looking back with the wisdom and maturity that comes with adulthood?
Uh. I'm sad that I can't even think of one. Maybe my parents were hyper-vigilant and only let me read sensible stuff before I started on David Eddings and my soul was lost forever.
I mostly used to read books about young ballerinas, or stories set in World War 2.
Oh! Wait. Just remembered one I got as a Sunday School gift: Charlcie Arrow and the Magic Red Cape. Can't remember much about it, but this girl finds a red cape in her attic or something, and it makes things fly, so I think they make a car fly and it takes them to this island where a young prince is pretty much captive to an evil bad guy so Charlcie saves the prince and deals with the bad guy and stuff. It was silly. I'm pretty sure that Charlcie and the prince fall in love or something. At age 12.
