I really think that Tor should have published the last book, because otherwise it might cause them also problems and less sales for other books. In the Netherlands it happened a lot that publisher picked up finished english series, but ended up only translating one or two. Which ofcourse meant that customers had less trust in that if they picked up a series, that they would see the last book as well. That effected sales of the books.
I find it weird that Melanie Rawn doesn't promise her fans that she will continue writing the last book and finish it and publish it, when she gets the rights back. (ofcourse when she has time, because she does need to make money)
I have actually read books from Melanie Rawn and really liked her first series. But after I read the first book of the series that wasn't finished and found out that it wasn't finished, I was very disappointed. And also didn't want to buy another series, unless i knew it would be finished.

She used to be one of my favorite authors. But I can't keep buying into her stuff.

I would be enraged. I'll remember never to buy a book by her. *NM*

If I were her, I would serialize that final novel and ask for donations, to keep the fans happy *NM*
