Mini mini review: Waking the Witch by Kelley Armstrong.

Waking the Witch is really not at all something I thought I would enjoy. It looked like Twilight but without the creepy inappropriate love story.
I was pleased to be surprised. In fact, the surprise was pleasant. Waking the Witch, by Kelley Armstrong, was a very enjoyable read. So enjoyable that I'd very much like to read more. And that's good, because there are lots of them.
Basic storyline: Savannah Levine gets to work her first solo (almost solo, anyway) case, which takes her to a tiny, depressing town nearby to investigate the mysterious deaths of three young women.
Of course, things are never what they seem, and Savannah is quickly in over her head. And much action, danger and other Good (Bad?) things ensue. (It's a mini mini review; I don't have to go too deep. )
As I said, I really enjoyed this. It's nothing new, it's not incredibly clever, or profound, or any of those things. It's just good, fun, escapist reading.
Maybe (don't kill me) a fusion of Dresden, Twilight, and Rebus. Maybe. I liked it.
And I worked out what was going on (well, half of what was going on. Some of it needed prior knowledge.)
