I listened to The Name of the Wind Mossman Send a noteboard - 09/09/2010 02:04:41 PM
Bought it from Audible. It was pretty good. Of course, Rothfuss is proving to be as slow as GRRM in putting out the second book.

I have read the usual suspects such as George RR Martin, Jordan, Hobb, Eddings, Sanderson, Tad Williams, Erikson and Feist.

Is the Shannara series really worth reading/listening to? It is expensive, and I get the feeling it is going to feel cliche after reading more modern fantasy.

Of course, a great narrator makes a world of difference here as well.

The Shannara series was cliche even back when it was written. It's downright painful now. - 30/08/2010 09:32:36 PM 864 Views
