Looking for a good Fantasy book series that I can listen to

I have read the usual suspects such as George RR Martin, Jordan, Hobb, Eddings, Sanderson, Tad Williams, Erikson and Feist.
Is the Shannara series really worth reading/listening to? It is expensive, and I get the feeling it is going to feel cliche after reading more modern fantasy.
Of course, a great narrator makes a world of difference here as well.

The Shannara series was cliche even back when it was written. It's downright painful now.

Its not complete yet....but the Lies of Lock Lamora by Scott Lynch was pretty great. *NM*
