All in all, it was quite enjoyable to read and I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the musical or has the fancy to read it. It's not a waste of reading time by any means.
The Mystery of the Yellow Room in particular is a classic, though that one is really a detective novel. I still intend to read other Leroux stuff, but other than those two they're not that easy to find outside France.
