I saw this in the bookshop and was tempted but I thought it's either going to be fantastic or really bad.

So, has anyone read it?
Good, bad or indifferent?



(or watched the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle telemovie version)
Personally, I think a lot of humor comes from knowing how exactly the story is being parodied within an inch of its life. A friend lent it to me when I was feel depressed and anxious over a family medical crisis...a perfectly hilarious diversion indeed.
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
