The novel has all the elements that you enjoy about Sanderson's works, with a few more this time around.
There is a good deal more uncertainty in this novel, the tones and themes darker, but there are a few parallel elements to your Mormonism comments. However, in this one, the authority, reliablilty, and power of those elements are certainly strongly questionable by the reader and the characters.
