I'll join this party...rather late...but oh well Brian Send a noteboard - 09/09/2009 07:59:26 PM
1. What dystopian literature have you read?

Fahrenheit 451 - Bradbury
Brave New World - Huxley
The Handmaids Tale - Atwood
Clockwork Orange - Burgess
The Wanting Seed - Burgess
A Canticle For Leibowitz - Walter Miller Jr.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep - Dick

I won't include The Road, because I agree with you...not dystopian.

2. Which was your favorite, and why?

Of the true dystopians? Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? That's only because I'm not sold on Leibowitz being dystopian.

3. Which was your least favorite, and why?

Of all these...I guess The Wanting Seed, but I quite liked it, so it's really just the loser because I liked it slightly less than all the others on the list.

4. Which did you find most disturbing, and why?

Brave New World, because it seemed like the one that was the most plausible.

5. Do you find it hard to read some dystopian literature because it is so disturbing?

Nope, I love it, it's one of my favorite types of book to read.

Don't get too spoilerific in these.

Currently I'm reading Zamyatin's We. Anyone else ever read it? Thoughts?
