When anything you say can be secrety heard and used against you, you learn to be very careful of what you say and how you say it. That was my impression from the start of the conversation. Pilate and Aphranius had obviously had a lot of experience with this and were fluent in speaking and interpreting what was really needed and meant.

When Pilate did the killing though that suprised me. I thought he was giving the order for Judas to be killed.
