Any idea if Bantam would be more inclined to get the book out as soon as possible or to push back the release date to spring 2011? I know that the first month or so of the year typically doesn't see many big releases, coming as it does just after the holidays.
Late January is a possibility, but generally speaking if you miss Christmas the next release slot is normally February. That said, January does have several fantasy releases this year, most notably Joe Abercrombie's new book, but that might just be a UK market thing (the same book is being held back for February in the US).

He was almost finished with the book in June 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and now 2010, according to GRRM.

I'd have thought Bantam would realize how many would buy it from the UK if it's out there first. *NM*

Martin's "staring at a blank screen" line doesn't sound too encouraging. *NM*

I suspect it would then be February-March.

GRRM is already up to circa 100 MS pages on Winds. The mind boggles at the timeline issues. *NM*

GRRM's now finished 8 POVs, with at least 2 left. I wonder how many more he has to go. *NM*
