I wish I'd been able to go this year, but I may have to make sure to next year. It sounds like lots of fun!
Catherynne Valente is very friendly and nice. She's the only author I've talked to for more than just long enough for them to sign my book and hand it back to me.

There were so many more authors that I didn't run into. Very industry-heavy group, my observation - either editors, reviewers, or writers, published or aspiring. I frequently got the impression that my sister and I were some of the only civilians there. Which is great for us. Unless I'm in Africa, I will definitely go next year.
I also really want to go to WisCon. Several people, when asked how well they like this con, said that WisCon is their favorite (those people, btw, being men). But that's not a reality for me until after I pass the CFA exams, which is 2012 at the earliest. I find out in 2 weeks if I passed level 2, and if I failed, it's WisCon 2013 at best.
And in case I haven't made the point clear enough in my post - I'm totally starstruck by Elizabeth Bear.
