I've read as many different reviews as I can imagine. People love it, hate it, don't care about it- it seems to be all about perception.

I just really liked that there was humor (the kind of silly, unbelievable humor that almost makes characters outrageous), but then there were also really deep flashes of insight re: bureaucracy, the ins and outs of war from the soldiers' perspectives, etc. It got to me, but maybe I was just in the right place, mentally, to experience it that way. *shrugs*
