I'm so tired of apocalypse/post-Apocalypse, Steampunk, vampires, and zombies in fiction.

Your review was good. So was the NYT one posted today as well. But I seriously find the entire apocalpyse/post-apocalypse scenario to be tired. It is intellectually bankrupt and speaks to high levels of unimagination <sic>. You know what is hard? Imagining a better tomorrow with a good story. You know what is easy? The same humans are going to destroy themselves/here is another end of humanity or near end of humanity story. Authors like Kim Stanley Robinson and Peter F. Hamilton imagine futures where humanity has not destroyed themselves and still manage to create interesting story.

I'm not tired of steampunk in fiction. I can barely remember any. Do you have recommendations?

No. I will not pollute your mind with Steampunk. Go read some Caesarius of Arles instead. *NM*
