That makes me think about "book to film to book" adaptations

I think I have seen a couple of those.
I actually think I have the book version of Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula" laying somewhere. Horrible thought...
I think there are others, such as Jurassic Park (the original novel differs quite a bit from the movie).

We know there is often a lot of controversy over book to film adaptations, but we don't often talk about things the other way round. I've read one decent one (the book version of The Piano is better than the film, imo) but don't know of any others.
Can this "genre" ever succeed?
Have you read good examples?

Exactly. I loved the film so much I freaked out when I saw the book in a Motel giftstore.
