well technically I've listened to it. I had never read P&P before but thought I'd give it a go. I enjoyed it. The Zombies did not play a major plot role, but rather added a little more spice to the characters and broke up the less entertaining sections.
After reading P&P&Z I then decided to get through P&P so I could comapre the two, and felt that I enjoyed the former over the latter. Listening to the Benetts discussing each others' skill in the deadly arts was slightly more interesting than the discussions of their musical ability.
It's mostly the same story but with Zombies worked in to cater to the less Jane Austen inclined readers, but I think it's a fun read whether you've read the original before or not. Though if you think P&P was God's gift to the literary world and you can't stand the idea of Austin's work being sullied by zombies, then maybe it won't be for you....

Did you hear about the upcoming sequel? Sense and Sensibility with Seamonsters, iirc.
